📖 Basic Rules
Unmatched Quick Reference — keep it handy during play
Objective
Reduce your opponent's Hero health to zero.
Components
- Miniatures & Tokens: Each player has a Hero miniature and, if applicable, a Sidekick token.
- Hero Card: Lists your hero's name, attack type, starting health, movement value, and special abilities — plus your sidekick's details.
- Deck & Health Dials: A deck of cards (start with 5 in hand, maximum 7) and health dials for Hero and Sidekick.
Turn Actions
Each turn you take 2 actions in any order — you may repeat the same action twice.
🏃 Maneuver
- You must draw a card first before moving.
- Then move your Hero and/or Sidekick up to your movement value.
- You may discard a card to add its boost value for extra movement.
⚔ Attack
- Play an attack card face down (only cards with your Hero's / Sidekick's name or "Any").
- The opponent may play a defend card face down.
- Reveal both cards. Compare boost numbers — if the attacker's is higher, subtract the defender's value; the difference is damage dealt.
- Fighter Removal: If a fighter is defeated during combat they are immediately removed. Any "after combat" effects that require that fighter's presence cannot be resolved.
🛡 Defender's card effects are resolved first.
🃏 Scheme
- Play a scheme card to trigger a special effect — read it aloud, then discard it.
Movement & Zones
- The board is made up of colored circles. Circles sharing the same color form a Zone.
- Circles connected by a black line are adjacent.
- Melee attacks: Only work on adjacent circles.
- Ranged attacks: Can target any circle in the same zone or an adjacent zone's circle.
Deck & Health Management
- Keep your hand size to 7 or fewer — discard extra cards at the end of your turn.
- Deck depletion penalty: When your deck runs out, each card draw attempt costs 2 health.
Bonus & Edge Rules
- If an attack would defeat both Heroes simultaneously, the active player wins.
- Some card effects and character abilities may override these general rules.
🛡 Always resolve the Defender's card effects first.
